Northern Iowa’s “Month of Money” kicks off on the Fourth of July holiday at the Algona Raceway. The Karl Performance Hawkeye Dirt Tour presented by XSAN returns for a third straight Independence holiday event. Fireworks follow the $1,000 to win, minimum $150 to start IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified tour feature on July 4th.
Also on the Independence Day card are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, running for $750 and $500 to win, respectively, and all applicable points.
Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. at Algona. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow.
Winners of the next three IMCA Stock Car feature events, plus a teammate of their choosing earn the right to compete in the annual $400 to win, 15-lap Ron Hansen Memorial Wildcard race at Algona Raceway. The special event will qualify 10 drivers and will be held on July 20.
The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars compete for $5000 possible to win during the Hancock County Fair race, held Friday, July 26th in Britt. IMCA Modifieds, SportMods, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts join the fair race card. All classes earn six-foot tall trophies.
The “Month of Money” trail heads to Algona Raceway on Wednesday, July 31st for a Kossuth County Fair special event. Stock Cars are the featured class, with all classes running for an increased purse.
On Saturday, August 3rd the Kossuth County Fair races will feature triple first place payoffs, plus double purse money for positions second through fourth in all IMCA classes.
Racers will be competing for $1500 to win in the IMCA modifieds (2nd $800, 3rd $700, 4th $600), $1200 for IMCA stock cars (2nd $600, 3rd $500, 4th $400), $900 to win the IMCA SportMods and hobby stocks (2nd $400, 3rd $300, 4th $250).
MaxYield Cooperative will return as sponsor of the “Hard Charger Award”, recognizing drivers who advance the most positions from their original starting spot.
The support of Doocy Repair in Lone Rock, IA makes the increased purse of $6250 ($1250 more than last year’s purse) possible. All classes earn six-foot tall trophies.
Last year’s winners of the fair races were Andy Boeckman (IMCA hobby stocks), Matt Hoeft (IMCA SportMods), Jim Larson (IMCA stock cars) and Dustin Smith (IMCA modifieds).
The 19th annual Doug Studer Farms Night of 1000 Stars will pay IMCA Modifieds a possible $8,000 to win and starts 36 cars for 50 laps at the Hancock County Speedway in Britt on Thursday, August 8th. It is also a stop on the Karl Performance Hawkeye Dirt Tour and has Ken Schrader competing that night in the IMCA modifieds.
Friday, August 9th features the first annual DuPont Pioneer/Doug Studer Farms Night of 10,000 Stars, posting a possible $10,000 to win top prize for the IMCA Modifieds.
